A recent case report has highlighted the successful integration of innovative technology and comprehensive clinical management in a challenging dental reconstruction. The patient presented with a deteriorated bridge and a mobile tooth, requiring a complex treatment plan.
The patient had been using an Essix Appliance to maintain tooth positions but was hesitant to seek treatment until finding a dentist who could manage the case without multiple referrals. The patient also wanted care that incorporated the latest advancements in dental technology.
The treatment plan involved extracting teeth and replacing them with implants using partial extraction therapy and grafting techniques. Advanced imaging technology, such as CAD/CAM data and CBCT scans, was used for precise implant placement. Surgical guides were designed and 3D printed, and custom Atlantis abutments were created.
After the healing period, healing abutments were placed and custom Atlantis abutments made from gold-hue titanium were fabricated. A provisional bridge was designed and 3D printed, and the final fixed bridge was milled, contoured, and glazed using KATANA Zirconia ONE material.
Throughout the treatment process, advanced imaging modalities, CAD/CAM technology, and 3D printing were instrumental in achieving precision and efficiency.
