A group of 15 young individuals have banded together for a meaningful cause. These participants, involved in the Strike A Chord initiative, which provides free music therapy, have collaborated to write and perform a charity Christmas single titled “The Winter’s Night.” The primary objective of this heartfelt song is to raise awareness about mental health issues, a topic of utmost importance in today’s society.
All the proceeds generated from the release of this single will be donated to Access Community Trust, the organization responsible for running the Strike A Chord project. This trust offers comprehensive support to young individuals in Suffolk, ensuring they receive the assistance they need. The collaborative efforts of The Junction, a young persons’ hub in Lowestoft, and Sunrise Studios, a community production company, have contributed to the success of the Strike A Chord project.
Beyond the creation of this impactful single, the young participants involved in the project have been granted the opportunity to explore the art of music writing and learn to play various instruments. This initiative not only raises awareness about mental health issues but also empowers these individuals to express themselves through the power of music.
Since its release on December 1st, “The Winter’s Night” has already been downloaded over 500 times and is available for streaming on all major platforms. Joshua Freemantle, the producer of this charity single, expressed the group’s profound appreciation for any support received. He emphasized that achieving a spot in the top 100 on the UK charts would hold great significance for the participants, validating their efforts and the message they aim to convey.
Through their collective talent and dedication, these young individuals have united to make a positive impact on mental health awareness. Their charity single, “The Winter’s Night,” serves as a testament to the power of music in fostering change and promoting dialogue about important societal issues. As the song continues to resonate with listeners, its reach expands, bringing hope and understanding to those who need it most.
